Login2Life Press Conference

Surrounded by talented stars and admirable angels whom I call friends, I participated in the LOGIN2LIFE documentary press conference in Munich and Second Life at Virtual Ability, Inc. this morning. Three Year Celebration of CommonGround Networking Party!

Wow! Three years of amazing support, networking, and team building which has been one of my most favorite accomplishments in Second Life. Ethelred and I have been co-hosts of this community event, but there is a whole team of supporters that make it happen every month and more join us each time around. Just so grateful and thrilled to have the opportunity to create party themes that people enjoy and create connections via colors and common experiences. Thank you all so very much!

Halloween at Common Ground

We had a wonderful Nonprofit Commons Halloween Party at Common Ground! Fab Boo costumes, friends, and awesome tunes spun by DJ LilTank! I continued my disco theme for costumes in Second Life by creating “Shining Star” to remind everyone that are one no matter who they are! ArminasX made my custom particle Nova to match my dress! You just can’t have enough orange on Halloween!

2009 Second Life Community Convention

I attended the 2009 Second Life Community Convention and was honored to meet the people I have been working with in Second Life, as well as, be introduced to several new friends. I taught a workshop called Inspire Engagement through Appearance and Branding and was on a panel called Common Good – Common Goals – Common Ground – Effective Immersive Social Networking with Coughran and Ethelred. I enjoyed helping out with the other Nonprofit Track events like Transitions: A Place for Dreams – Case Study of Collaboration and Networking in Virtual Worlds with Ozma, InK, and Buffy. Second Life 6 Birthday Exhibit for NPC

Thanks to the help of some friends and several orgs, I built the exhibit for the Nonprofit Commons for the SL6B. It is about the future of immersive social networking effectively connects people and creates cooperative support by generating Common Good with Common Goals meeting on Common Ground at the Nonprofit Commons by encouraging participation, promotion, and positive results.

Linden Prize goes to Virtual Ability

Virtual Ability won the Linden Prize of $10,000 USD to further their mission of providing resources to help people with real-world disabilities start using Second Life for them to enjoy the medical and psychological benefits offered by virtual environments. Virtual Ability Island is an amazing place with orientation resources and they have an office at Nonprofit Commons as well. Nonprofit Commons was a Finalist for the Linden Prize, something we are all honored about. Congrats to Virtual Ability!

Fundraiser for Project Jason and Garden for the Missing

Another successful fundraiser for Project Jason, an organization that assists the families of the missing, and The Garden for the Missing, a project to create awareness, was held at LoveLi Mall and earn over $200 to the cause. Kelly Jolkowski, Jason’s mother and founder of Project Jason, spoke about the disappearance of her son and how they support famillies with missing people. This Second Life event is a great example of how virtual worlds have real world results. Thank you to all who created and supported the event!
