Three Year Celebration of CommonGround Networking Party!

Wow! Three years of amazing support, networking, and team building which has been one of my most favorite accomplishments in Second Life. Ethelred and I have been co-hosts of this community event, but there is a whole team of supporters that make it happen every month and more join us each time around. Just so grateful and thrilled to have the opportunity to create party themes that people enjoy and create connections via colors and common experiences. Thank you all so very much!

Please join us for a Nonprofit Commons Community Celebration at CommonGround at Aloft Nonprofit Commons with the Return of Ricken Flow as our amazing DJ!

Our party theme is “Summer of Love – Tie Dyes and Togetherness” and our theme colors are stunning rainbows and 60′s inspired hues! Dress up and join the party!

What is CommonGround? It is more than a party!

Enjoy networking and dancing among other nonprofits and supporters! Learn more about what nonprofits, educators, humanitarians, scientists, and artists accomplish in Second Life at the Nonprofit Commons at this fun and informative event.

CommonGround is a monthly event that is a special community celebration which is color themed and full of energy on the first Thursday of the month from 5 to 7 PM SLT!

The location of the party is here : http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Aloft%20Nonprofit%20Commons/64/78/25 .  See you there!

Shiny New Year

Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people laughing
Everyone around, love them, love them
Put it in your hands
Take it, take it
There’s no time to cry
Happy, happy
Put it in your heart
Where tomorrow shines
Gold and silver shine
- REM

We had a very Happy New Year party at Common Ground with our Shiny theme! Everyone enjoyed our new Photo Op, Photobooth, and Slideshow! Let’s Shine in O9!

Sunrise at Common Ground

Our color theme was Sunrise at Common Ground and everyone rose to the challenge. Par and Penguin enjoyed our new Tinies Dance Ball donated by Rhiannon to Common Ground! Ricken spun lots of great sunny songs for us! And, Mel came as one – “House of the Rising Sun”! Such creativity abounds!

Midnight at the Party Plaza

Our color theme for Common Ground was Midnight, so everyone came as the night sky! It was lovely to be surrounded by so many stars!

Golden at Common Ground

With a Gold color theme, Common Ground @ NPC Plush was sponsored by Virtual Ability. Ricken Flow shared their mission ito enable people with a wide range of disabilities to enter into virtual worlds like Second Life®, and provide them with a supporting environment once there. He provided wheelchairs and dances for the “wheelies”. It was a great night full of angels, supporters, and snow!

Yellow – You are my sunshine!

Super bright sunshine shone at Common Ground @ Plush NPC! Mel and Par stole the show with their outfits of mustard and a banana! Common Ground continues to be a place to connect with others and learn more about what nonprofits are doing in Second Life.

After the party, I thought I would take some shots of my new gown I made that afternoon.

Red Alert! Common Ground Rocks the Red!

Rose-colored glasses were not needed with everyone dressed in red with glee. Common Ground continues to be an excellent spot for networking, brainstorming, and merriment for nonprofit folks. We share stories, surprises, and sticks. Glow sticks that is!
Join us each Thursday night at 7 at Plush Nonprofit Commons. Find out the color theme to dress up and get down!

Magenta

Lovely in Magenta! This one pixelated image of me with Ozma and Ethelred in the background got to me. They have been such a supportive team with Common Ground! Thanks guys! And, our DJ, Ricken, just makes each night so special and extra fun! I look forward to his set every week! Thanks Ricken!

Blue and Violet

Common Ground has become a wonderful place to show support of nonprofits and we have tons of brainstorming sessions while dancing away. We had to see how many AVs we could sit on our spinning light. Five! That’s right! Five!
